What was your HE course and when did you graduate?
My course was BEng (Hons) Computer Network Technology and I graduated in 2007. I also later did an MSc in Advanced Telecommunication systems in 2011 at Swansea University
Could you briefly describe the organisation you work for?
I work for IBM contract Southwest One supporting IT Infrastructure for Somerset County Council, Taunton Dean borough Council and Somerset Avon police

DCS Engineer – Supporting IT Infrastructure
What modules are most helpful to you in your job?
Internetworking and CISCO lab works, Microsoft Technology and Microsoft lab works, Internet Security
Where do you use your specialist skills and abilities?
Infrastructure fault finding, processing information, researching and resolving issues and documenting issues.
Do you find yourself using the transferable skills that you developed in University?
Yes, especially communication skills in a technical field. I need to use technical terms and have an inside out knowledge of IT to process information.
What aspects of your job do you enjoy most?
Supporting all systems, users and keeping the network infrastructure intact.
