Q.What was your HE course and when did you graduate?
My course was BSc (Hons) Business Information Technology and I graduated in 2012
Q. Could you briefly describe the organization you work for?
I work for Liberty Marketing – a specialist digital marketing agency in Cardiff. We are now the 17th fastest growing business in Wales (out of 200,000!).
Q. What is your job title and role?
My job title is Business Development Executive – my job is to meet prospective customers that have an interest in SEO, PPC or Social media and persuade them to use us for their digital marketing. Bringing cakes to the first meeting always helps!
Q. What modules are most helpful to you in your job?
Usability Engineering – this module helped me identify key things that can be improved with websites and the way in which they are designed. Also Managing People and Change – this module helped me learn about various personalities and traits in the workplace. It’s very important as I meet all sorts of people throughout my job and need to adapt my approach to whomever it is I am speaking with.
Q. Where do you use your specialist skills and abilities?
I love to interact with clients and teach them about digital marketing, which helps them make a decision on the best approach.
Q. Do you find yourself using the transferable skills that you developed in University?
Most of the modules that I completed are transferrable to my job role.
Q. What aspects of your job do you enjoy most?
We have cake day every Friday in the office…other than that, I would say I really enjoy meeting new clients and learning about their business as well as their goals.
