Programme Design:
We are seeing an increased skill shortage in the field of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, with many employers finding it difficult to source suitably skilled and qualified graduates.
This course provides students with a highly desirable degree pathway, studied alongside the established and successful Computer Systems and Electronics streams. Students can thus benefit from state of the art Digital Signal processing and Digital Synthesis Development Systems as well as studying core areas such as Circuit Design and Analysis, Engineering Management; Analogue, Digital and Power electronics
The School is equipped with state-of-the-art development systems made possible by large equipment donations from Xilinx and Texas Instruments, which give you the chance to gain first-hand experience of the best technology currently in use in industry.

Entry Requirements:
200 UCAS tariff points to include two C grades at A-Level/AVCE; or
BTEC National Diploma grades Pass, Pass, Pass; or
BTEC National Certificate grades Merit, Pass; or
NVQ Level 3 – Pass
Please note that subjects at Advanced Level should/may include Maths, ICT, Physics or similar.
GCSE Maths grade C or above is preferred.
Other qualifications deemed to be equivalent by the Academic Board will also be considered.

Foundation Year (Incorporated as a four year degree scheme)
BEng(Hons) Computer Systems and Electronics
Successful completion of the above Foundation Year guarantees continuation onto the degree scheme. This programme is aimed at students who do not have suitable formal qualifications for entry onto the BEng degree.
You will gain a wide exposure to modern technologies including: Field Programmable Gate Arrays, Digital Signal Processors, Advanced Digital Communication Systems, C, C++, Java, Computer Networks, Analogue and Digital Electronics.
